Surround Air Multi Tech S3000 Purifier

This is the only air purifier that combines the top six technologies into one unit: unfeigned HEPA filter for dust and allergens, germicidal UV Lamp to destruct micro-organisms, activated carbon filter for chemicals, smoke, odors, ionizer for corpuscles and bacteria, programmable sanitizer for odors, and anti-bacterial pre-filter for larger particles. Tests show that unfeigned HEPA filters (recommended by the Dept. of Homeland Security) are more effective than any other type of air filter at capturing dust, pollen, ragweed, dust mites, mold spores and other allergens. The germicidal UV light air purification, which destroys micro-organisms, is commended by the U.S. Centers of Disease Control (CDC). Furthermore, according to Penn State Dept. of Aerobiological researchers, carbon filters serve to remove odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and chemicals that other filters cannot. The Multi-Tech has multiple technologies for pollutants such as cigarette smoke and other odors, including the activated carbon filter, ionizer and programmable sanitizer. The Multi-tech seeks and destroys pollutants all over the room with it is negative ion air purification system. The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture found negative ion air purification (ionizers) to be 99% effective at removing airborne dust and particles. Under normal circumstances, Multi-Tech substitute costs will run just $25 to $50 per year (for alternate filters and UV lamp each year). Use of the Multi-Tech will only add a few dollars or so per month to your power bill. Its powerful fan increments air-cleaning efficacy by efficaciously moving the air. Even with the fan setting on high, the Multi-Tech is very quiet. The Multi-Tech air purifier has been awarded ETL safety certification and is maintenance free.

Very happy

Had my ‘c’ model for a bit now and I am very happy, the bedroom is definitely clearer and I am waking up much more refreshed and less congested. The unit is well built and quiet. I researched the difference between the ‘c’ and ‘e’ model and found they are identical except the ‘c’ has an added feature which is an ionizer booster control. The ‘c’ was only slightly higher in price, less than ten bucks, and I liked that feature so I chose the ‘c’ model. I shopped around on the internet and found the price range was large, with this price from Amazon being in the middle, I actually found the unit for 108 and it arrived in 2 days! Shop around a bit and you will save even more. Looks like Amazon has the edge on the replacement filter and UV lamp though- but they are designed to only be replaced yearly with everyday use.

I purchased both the C and D models. The D model supposedly has a slightly beefier fan. I had read the reviews and noted a low score review that talked about not having enough airflow to even hold a paper at the inlet. Note that this product ships with the filter in place. The filter must be removed and a piece of cardboard removed from it. If you don’t do that, of course it won’t pass air. I say that because I performed the “see if the suction can hold the paper” test and it did just fine.

That said, any purifier review is going to be somewhat subjective unless you test it under labratory conditions. I have no idea how well this unit cleans the air except to make these factual notes:
1. After a month of use (C model) in our bedroom (and we keep a clean house), I looked at the air filter and it was coated with dust. I suppose this is a good thing. I plan to vaccum the dust off to extend the filter life. But it proves it does something. Our bedroom is quite large (20×15).

2. We have a finished downstairs where our chocolate lab stays (about 20×20). My wife immediately noticed that the “pet smell” was gone (using the D model). That alone was good enough for her.

This purifier has hepa, carbon, UV, and ozone purification methods. I can attest to the fact that the ozone is definately distinguishable by smell when it is turned up high. It almost smells like the air around a chlorinated pool. You can set the level if you don’t want so much ozone, or shut it off completely.

The one test I have not tried is to see if it removes the smokey smell from our fireplace. We get a pungent smell, especially when it rains and the rain combines with the creosote in the fireplace. If it removes this odor, it will be a definite winner in my book and I’ll raise the rank to 5 stars. The last test will be how it
does during pollen season. I have allergies and one test will be to see how it does during heavy pollination,
though it would need to be in a room without open windows I would think.

What the specifications for this product do not tell you is how much air is circulated through this per hour. That would be important information and is available for the BlueAir purifier.

I was considering the BlueAir, $800 model (with $150 filter replacements). It could be that this would be a far better choice, but at a $700 difference, the Surround Air seems to do the job…and you could buy 8 of them at the same price! With much cheaper filters.

Summary: In my opinion, this is a thumbs-up for rooms up to about 400 sq feet. For bigger spaces, you might consider multiple units (?) before going for that hugely expensive purifier. It’s worth a try for under $100!
(last I checked it was $98 on Amazon for the C model).

Not powerfull enought – buy it for exrta small rooms ONLY!!!

just a few thoughts about this air purifier- it’s not a bad air purifier, it just doesn’t live up to the promises the manufacturer gives – it says it on the box – for rooms up to 500 sq.feet , well i bought it for my living room which is aprox. 400 sq feet – it was a total waste of time and hopes. then i moved it to the bedroom – about 200 sq ft. – hmmmmmm after 3 days of non stop running on the highest setting i noticed a slight difference in the quality of the air .Then i opened the cover and there was some dust on the filter, meaning – it was doing something but, well not quite good or at least not quite as advertised.

I’m giving this product 2 stars because it’s relatively cheap and in my smallest bedroom – about 120 sq.ft it did a good job.

In conclusion – very underpowered product and NOT suitable for large rooms. the UV light is a good addition and the ozone function is nice as well and hopefully will do there job but this is not an air purifier for 500 sq.ft as advertised. not even close…..i recently purchased another air purifier – Winix 5300 and that is a whole different story – check my review on that one if you wish.it costs 20 bucks more but boy oh boy does it worth it!

Filter OK – Humidifier Not so good

The filters work fine but once the humidifier itself gets dirty/dusty, it is almost impossible to clean perfectly and therefore the filter indicator always considers that the filter needs to be changed even though it is new.

Disappointed customer

The plastic housing for the replacement filter disintergrates when washed. When the filter dries, it becomes very hard. This is ineffective as the dial on the humidifier registers that this new replacement needs changing and this filter needs constant changing. The new extra replacement filters (2) that were purchased 6 weeks ago have almost doubled in price since that purchase. The humidifier should be sold with multiple filters and now becomes a bad investment. We do not recommend this purchase.

No fault of the filter. Its does its job.. But when you store your humidifier, the filter is usually useless to use again once it dries. It gets out of shape and discolors. Still, I like the filter option and when I purchase through Amazon, I normally buy two as the humidifier does not function without it because the vapors are drawn through the filter.

Great Air Cleaner

I bought one of these at Wal-Mart to replace an expensive Honeywell that I had in my house for many years. It finally died and I went to buy another one just like it, but it was no longer available. I decided to try to this one and have been very impressed.

The unit is quiet, not like the other review. The auto setting automatically adjusts when the air is dirty. In the morning after my wife sprays her hairspray, the unit in our bedroom kicks up to high for a few minutes to clear the air!

I am so impressed by this unit, that I have purchased six more, for a total of seven. We have a large house and I want two in my living area, two in my family room, one in my bedroom and one in each kid bedroom.

The unit is much quieter than the Honeywell and I like the fact that I do not have to replace the filter.

Only time will tell if it is a good product for several years, but right now this is a GREAT PRODUCT!!

ONLY #04492 Has the PERMANENT AIR FILTER

I received my Model #04492. It has the PERMANENT FILTER which is REMOVABLE to Clean. It IS NOT TOO LOUD as some people have stated. I keep mine on Auto Sensor and I LOVE IT!

After over a week of constant use (I NEVER SHUT IT OFF) my eyes are no longer PUFFY in the morning. I do not see a haze in the air any longer when the sun shines through the window either. I am not a smoker so that was not it. I had dirty air stirred up by the ceiling fan which is almost always on.

This gets a 5 star from me!

So much confusion here because Amazon combines it’s reviews for both Models #04492 AND #04491.

I noticed they use the SAME REVIEWS(same Brand Names but DIFFERENT Model Numbers) on many many items sold on Amazon. Especially CAMERAS – buyers beware.

They SHOULD NOT DO THAT because it is very very MIS-LEADING!

I persevered NEARLY 2 HOURS through web site after web site to confirm the FACT that the #04491 requires a $49 replacement filter every 6 months or so.

After two hours of searching and reading and Price Comparing – I found a NEW IN BOX #04492 on Ebay for a total of $105 including shipping.

I really have no idea how well it is going to work.

All I know is I had to read site after site – ad after ad to figure out that THEY ARE NOT ALIKE in the FILTER DEPT!

I almost bought the #04491 because of the Amazon Reviews from several satisfied customers that said it they LOVE the Permanent Filter… THAT WAS WRONG!

Thank God I remembered about the CAMERAS and how they combine their Reviews on similar items. So I thought – just for the heck of it… and I started GOOGLING the #04492. I WAS RIGHT!

They had the SAME EXACT REVIEWS for the #04492 as they did the #04491.

DO NOT GET THE #04491 unless you do not mind buying the $49 air filter every 6 months. If they say 6 months – FIGURE 4 months and it will be clogged.

If you shop around – you can get an #04492 CHEAPER than what some sites are selling the #04491 for.

I hope this review will enlighten some of you and prevent you from buying something that an AMAZON.com review MISLED you about.

Before you purchase something BIG and Expensive or Specific that you need or want – Search – Search – GOOGLE – GOOGLE! Then you will know EXACTLY what Model number you need.

Great purifier!

I was really hesitant at buying this product as it is much cheaper compared to other ionic/hepa filter purifiers..but this is really a great product and was very surprised at just how well it works. It has multiple settings, an auto sensor that will allow it to adjust itself, the filter never needs to be changed..only cleaned 3-6 months.

It has improved our air quality so much at home. We have 2 dogs and 2 kids running around this home, pet dandor and dust galore! You could normally see it in the air at times it was so much (through the sun rays coming in the windows) and now we don’t see it nearly as much if hardly at all. This is a great buy for the price, I highly recommend it. We haven’t had one problem with it since we bought it!

Economical and efficient

The Harmony Air Purifier has turned out to be a great little workhorse of a machine! I have dogs and this machine does a great job of removing their dust, hair and dander from the air. The only problem I have is the noise. The Harmony is not loud, but it is noticeable. Filter replacement is easy. Filter costs can add up. The recommended replacement on the Hepa filter was 12-18mos, but I needed to replace after 8 months of hard use. Overall I reccomend it. Good Quality, Great Price.

About as basic as it gets

My biggest complaint is that I have to refill it everyday and its awkward to carry the base when it has water in it. Next time I buy I humidifier I will get one that holds more water. Also when you go to refill it you have to take the motor top off and lay it somewhere dripping wet. It could definitely be designed bettter, but it works. You don’t see the stream of moist air coming from it (maybe because its not heated) but moist air definitely comes out.
Anyway it works just fine, but its no frills. I wouldn’t pay more then $20 for it though.

Ice-cold drinks!!

I’d read some reviews on other sites for this model about how lots of people had to adjust the temp because their drinks were too cold (or even freezing). Since that’s how cold I want my fridge to be able to cool, I bought one. The other reviews were right! The unit is advertised to keep a temp that’s 40 degrees cooler than the surrounding temp. I can testify it does that and more. I have this in in an office environment at work, which is always near 70 degrees. The first time I got this fridge running it cooled down to the high 20′s – my drinks were partially frozen and undrinkable. That means this fridge is capable of cooling to a little more than 40 degrees than it’s surrounding temp. Perfect! I merely adjusted the temp a little so now it hovers around the low 30′s. That means I can depend on my drinks being ice-cold. The knob for adjusting the temp is in the back, so it’s a little hard to reach. But fortunately it’s near the top, so you don’t need to pull out the fridge to reach it. You just have to crouch down all the way and reach over the top.

I work in southern California where it’s now in the 90′s outside, so it’s aweseome when I’m hot and sweaty to be able to open up my fridge and pull out an ice-cold drink. I’m actually going to buy another one for home!

The only problem I had is the first one arrived defective – didn’t cool at all. The vendor arranged a UPS pick-up (fortunately I’d kept the packaging – it was dead out of the box) and within a few short days the replacement unit arrived. It’s worked perfectly since.

Freezes without a freezer compartment

I bought this model based on Musicdex’s recommendation above. Everything (s)he says is right on the mark. I’ve had food freeze in this fridge, so it probably can keep a frozen entree frozen or pretty darn close.

It’s also very quiet. I have it under my desk at work, where I’m in an equally quiet area of the office. Love it, love it, love it.

Sounds Like a Mini Airplane Getting Ready for Take-Off! It Does Get Stuff Really Cold!–> Problem Now Resolved.

I wanted a refrigerator that would get really cold, was black and had more room than one with a freezer which I knew I would rarely use. So, based on the good reviews I purchased this Danby DAR195BL 1.8 cu.ft. All Refrigerator – Black.

This compact fridge is very nice. I wanted to mostly use it for drinks, and some lunch stuff/snacks and quick meal items like a carton of eggs, salad dressings and cheeses/luncheon meats; maybe a loaf of bread. They went in with room to spare. The slots for soda/beer cans and my once a day 9.5 oz. bottles of iced Starbuck’s Frappucino are nice, everything slid in perfectly. Plus it fits a 2-liter bottle of soda in the door or a quart of milk and a quart of orange juice. Nice 11″ depth on the top 2 shelves but items can overhang by another 2″, so ideal for leftovers or take-out. Only the bottom shelf is shorter, about 6.5″ deep. But so far great! And when you get the temperature dial just right and figure out where to put the soda cans so they get a bit of a freeze on them, you get a heavenly cold drink on a hot day.

So, that’s where the good part ended. It was supposed to be quiet according to most reviews. So I waited a few hours before firing it up (as was recommended) then plugged it in. To my dismay, when the compressor came on it was pretty loud. But I shrugged and just thought it needed about 24 hours to cool itself down and figured it would adjust itself. Well, that didn’t happen. It sounds like a mini airplane running it’s engine all night long in my bedroom(I’ve got it set about mid way on the dial). I can even hear it in the living room, over the sound of the television. It makes a constant humming sound at a pitch that just can’t be ignored. And we have moved it to different locations/positions too, to try to get it to make less noise but to no avail. The left side also gets VERY hot while the compressor is running.

I love everything about this little fridge but the noise is driving me crazy. I’ve turned down the dial to a less cool setting to keep the compressor from coming on as often, but now my drinks aren’t nearly as cool and refreshing. It’s kind of ironic though, because I read a comment about the Emerson 1.8 Cu. Ft Compact Refrigerator which is also supposed to be very quiet. That person said his fridge sounded like an “airplane overhead”. So I’m thinking this is a quality control issue with these type of fridges or possibly cheap Chinese compressors. Maybe it’s just the luck of the draw if you get a quiet or noisy one.

At any rate, I’m thinking maybe I got a defective one, because no one has complained of noise like this. I plan to call Amazon and get a replacement. I’m just hoping that I WILL actually get a quiet one. I really don’t mean to discourage anyone from purchasing this unit, because I REALLY like it. But I did feel I should point out how noisy mine is, because maybe they’re not making them as good as they used to or maybe they are now being manufactured by another company. Don’t really know, just very, very disappointed.

UPDATE 4/3/12: Problem Resolved: Replacement fridge is Great. It’s VERY quiet and is warm, not hot, on the sides when the compressor is running. Did have a wobble but was an easy fix. With the dial set to 3/4 my coffee drinks are frozen at the bottom level in the door and the back of lower shelf. Need to do a bit more fiddling with the dial, or not. I’m definitely keeping this one!

Note: The AC plug is a “flat to the wall” type so the cord(measuring 6 feet 3 inches) runs against the wall instead of sticking straight out. This means you can push the fridge quite close to a wall. This is a small feature but one I like a lot.

No matter where you buy they fridge it comes only in factory packaging which is not very protective. However, neither of the two I received was dented.

UPDATE 5/12/12: Fridge still running great and I still love it.

GREAT UNIT, Don’t know what all the Negative stuff is about.

Is it PERFECT? of course not, but is IS Darned Good. I gave a 4 ONLY because there were some minor things that could have made it better (Most of which you find on the more expensive units) which seems fair enough, you want more “Gizmo’s” you pay for them. really I should change it to a 5. My experience has been just great.

NEGATIVE THINGS I HAVE READ HERE FROM OTHERS, That Just Don’t Bear Out in First Hand Experience: (I almost didn’t buy this unit because of all the nasty things people wrote)

Maybe the Biggest Gripe is “Oh My, It’s Sooo LOUD”
I frankly have NO IDEA what these people are complaining about. It is Not Totally Silent (Was that expected?) but even just 4-5 feet away from the unit running Full Tilt, Max Everything I have ZERO PROBLEMS holding a normal conversation or watching TV. (Mine sits right Next to my TV and I have not adjusted the volume from what it was before I started using this unit) The “Noise” is NOT Linear in nature. The unit has 3 fan speeds; LOW lets make sound level =1; MED lets call sound level =2-2.5; and Yeah, HIGH/MAX is sound level =5 (as an example) There is a Significant difference between Med and High, BUT As I Said, NO Problems talking or hearing TV even on MAX. (for the record, I just moved here and had not had a humidifier previously, it wasn’t necessary. So This winter season I was WAY LATE buying one and getting started. My house was down to just 15% and I had this unit running MAX Output for a Week as is slowly dragged the humidity levels up. So I am WELL Acquainted with the sound of this device (at it’s worst). Just yesterday i got the house up to 47% and set the humidity dial on the unit to cycle on & off (more on this later). It has been described as Airplane taking off, Hurricane, etc…. Either the fan unit was not set back on the unit properly and it’s vibrating (see “user error”) or These people just got a Lemon ? (return it and get a new one) or they are just gripey people who needed SOMETHING Nasty to say, because this thing just IS NOT LOUD.

Next “Water spills all over the floor”
BUNK (period). I suppose if you are some sort of nut job who throws things around and slams things, etc. you MIGHT be able to make a wave or two in there, but the ONLY water I have seen has been the OCCASIONAL (not every time) drop or two, Never a “Puddle” (And I have ALL Hard Wood Floors, so this is a real issue for me) and the “Drops” came from the OUTside of the tanks as a by-product of filling them in my sink. I now keep a kitchen towel next to the area I fill the tanks and give them a quick wipe before walking back to the unit and NO MORE DROPS. *NOW* With All That Said Given that I DO have hard wood floors and a leak of any kind could be a “not good” thing for me I have taken the precaution of buying a plastic bin I am setting the device inside of. It is big enough that IF somehow the whole thing drained the full max water volume out, the bin can hold that and more. Just Good (and cheap) insurance. If you were wondering? I bought ((Underbed Plastic Storage Container – Set of Two (Clear) (6.25″H x 18″W x 28″D))

One of My FAVORITE Complaints ?? “You have to Refill the water too much” or “It uses too much water”
REALLY ?? Just THINK about this one. You BUY a Humidifier to …. Put Water In Your Air — And You Complain about it Doing EXACTLY what you paid for ?? I mean, was the idea you buy a Big Unit to put LOTS of humidity in the air of a large house — and it runs off a thimble of water for 3 months ??? NO, You would only get a Thimble full of Humidity. I just find this complaint SILLY. It’s Doing it’s Job. On a more practical note, one I have personally been going thru. As discussed above, My house was down to about 15% humidity when I started this unit up. What is More Important was it is NOT JUST THE AIR that is dry. The Walls are dry, the floor, ceiling, furniture, EVERYTHING was Dry, so putting some moisture in the AIR, doesn’t solve your problem, the house just sucks it up and your air is dry again, It Takes Quite a While to raise the humidity level of EVERYTHING in the house up before you can have the unit cycle on & off as it NOW just keeps the Air moist. (As I said About, Mine ran for about a full week 24/7 Full Max to bring the house up to a good level. NOW it is cycling on & off (as of last night) where a refill on those tanks will last longer and I wont be filling them twice a day every day (Yes, I know the math suggests I would have been filling 3 times a day, but it just didn’t turn out that way. It was 2 or just slightly over 2, but I Never filled 3 times in 24 hours, Not from EMPTY TANKS each time at least. There were plenty of 1 Empty tank and the other 1/2, or 2/3rds empty refills. Now that rate has slowed WAY DOWN and I would expect to maybe fill just Once a day. Later on when the Weather gets less dry I can see this unit lasting Several Days on a single fill.

One lady said the tanks were too heavy. said that “A Gallon is too heavy”, Well, 1- they are 1.5 Gallons each; 2-a Gallon of water weighs 8 pounds and that is the weight of a new born baby — and babies don’t have handles. OK, 1.5 gallons — so thats 12 pounds and we are talking about a 3-4 month old baby now, same thing. Women pick up 3-4 month old babies all the time and they don’t come with handles, Plus they Wiggle. So, REALLY ?? Grocery sacks average more than 8-12 pounds unless you are buying nothing but rice cakes and bread. Again, the ENTIRE IDEA is to put water in the air, stop complaining that it’s bad, because it does its job.

One “Semi-Ledgit” issue was the lack of Digital controls to dial in an exact humidity level.
TRUE, that is part of what I was talking about at the beginning about “Gizmo’s” that were not on this unit, BUT ARE on the more expensive units. Do you Buy a Chevy and say the Chevy is JUNK, because it is Not a Rolls Royce ?? If you want a Rolls, go BUY one. This unit is a Chevy.

However; another complaint was that the lack of the digital controls didn’t allow for setting a reliable humidity level. Again, BUNK. as I said yesterday my house got up to where it was comfortable and (as in the instructions) I turned the humidity dial down until the unit shut off. Then leave it and see what you have. (YES, you need to have a reliable temp/humidity gauge. They sell nice ones on here for like 7 or 8 bucks. This unit didn’t claim to show you the humidity. You can do it by FEEL if you want, or buy the gauge and know. I was shooting for something between 45-50%. I saw 47 on my gauge and set the dial on the unit. In the last 24 hours EVERY TIME I have checked the gauge it is at either 47% or 48%, and I would call that VERY ACCURATE. I’m going to leave it where it is another week or so till we get another cold snap and see if it holds the level. Once I’m convinced it’s right, its time for the Sharpie Pen and put a little Dot or Line on the dial so I can hit the same spot next year. (I’t Not Rocket Science)

You can say you don’t like the color, the wheels are funny, you don’t like the shape, or just say it’s Momma Wears Army Boots, if you feel like saying SOMETHING Nasty, but the Bottom Line is the unit is well priced given its market and features and it does its job very well.

IDEA’S?

I found one Great One; that was every time you fill the tanks and replace them, Pop the Top of this unit and flip the filter over. The top edge of the filter dries out as it works and if left that way will, in time, get crusty with stuff and no longer soak up water as effectively. (like if you tried to flip it over only ONCE in its life span, that second half isn’t going to work as well) I have found that by doing this the filter stays moist and functional and just works better. (It takes an extra 20 seconds, and it’s worth it)

I’m using the bacteriostatic stuff they show as a companion product. Since i have not run it without this stuff I really cant say if it does anything, but it is cheap ($4-$5) and you only use like 1/2 cap full in each tank when you fill the tanks, so it Lasts a long time. What I CAN SAY is I have not had ANY buildup of Funky Stuff in the tanks or reservoir of the unit, and as I said, with the flipping of the filter and this bacteriostatic stuff the filters are still soft and absorbent.

Hope this Helps, I had Concerns when i bought and ended up wishing someone had “Cleared the Air” for me, so I did it for you.

BTW, I have purchased a SECOND Unit and plan to put it in my Upstairs bedroom. (I have no “Noise” Fears) I have a small ultrasonic unit up there now that just isn’t doing the job. by itself it could only raise the air from 15% to 20%. Once I got this big guy put to work downstairs I have seen the humidity slowly rise to between 30% – 35% which isn’t bad given it is only the moisture that manages to make it past the heater as it gets circulated upstairs.

Form and function pros and cons

I really debated about giving this item three or four start. I decided on four because bottom line it does a good job getting moisture in the air and some design items work well. For instance, it is on wheels so it is easy to move and the water fill containers are manageable. They had the forsight to make two instead of one and the handles are comfortable.

Now for some negatives. At the highest setting, it is still pretty loud. I live in a condo so, if I’m watching TV I usually keep it on the second highest setting or wear headphones and keep it at the highest setting. Here is another noise issue- when it starts getting empty, a loud humm starts up. Another thing I don’t like is that you can’t control or see what the humidity level is- it just kicks out. I think this feature is available on a higher model but it seems like it should be available on this one for the price they are asking.

Probably the biggest issue I have with this unit is that it has a side discharge for air rather than through the top like most units. This is an issue for me because when I watch TV I usually sit on the floor (TV over a fireplace would never work for me) and this unit blows COLD AIR out and it is quite uncomfortable. You could make the argument to move it somewhere else, but for maximum benefit you should keep it where you spend most of your time.

So ther you have it. I probably should give it three stars but it does what its supposed to do well- with some design issues.

It works

First I went cheap and bought a small evaporative unit. The large filter was “permanent”, but required occasional decaling and the small pump filter kept getting gummed up. I then purchased a warm mist unit, it worked at first and when required continuous use to barely maintain the proper humidity level. After got my electric bill, I stopped using it. Finally I purchased this unit. Works perfectly, keeps the house at the level I want (45%) and only automatically turn on when needed. The dual water tanks are also nice. I suggest you get a unit rated to at least double your home’s square footage.
